Fudgerydoo wanted to reduce the cost of their current Litho Lam Counter Top Display Box. The current Litho Lam box held excellent shelf presence and presented the contents and the brand extremely well, so any solution couldn’t compromise the success of the current branding.
FUDGERYDOO: THE ORIGINAL FUDGE STICK
Made in Cornwall from the finest ingredients and free from artificial additives; Fudgerydoo is a fudge finger made in the UK by Caterlink.
TRANSITION FROM LITHO TO FLEXO
The existing box design for Caterlink offered a good practical design of a transit box, which then transformed quickly and easily into a counter top display. However in order to reduce costs for Caterlink the current Litho graphic was replicated using high quality post print flexography.
The boxes were printed in four colour flexo, using infrared driers to cure the ink on clay-coated cardboard.
SUPREME FLEXO PRINTING
The new flexographic printed box enhances the main features of the old lithographic box with an average cost saving of around 35% on a like to like order.
As the majority of the value-added processes in lithography production require long setup times. Switching to flexography allowed for a high-speed production and a reduction in the waiting times for Caterlink.
